Colourful artwork & colourful language tell Sophie's story of motherhood and mental health.
Glasgow based visual artist Sophie Grindlay creates vibrant paintings, paper collages and sculptures about the chaos found in the details of her life. Putting her own mental health & mothering under the microscope she uses the scalpel & her sense of humour to slice away the layers & decipher what being a mother and an artist means as an act of rebellion. Mark making & creating alongside her children she explores loss of identity in a patriarchal society.
Exhibited internationally & awarded the Stanley Picker prize, Sophie visually interprets her ongoing struggles with identity, sanity, and raising wee ones.
